It firmly sits as one of the most awaited motion pictures coming next year. In a festive surprise, a preview has now been released, though it's hampered due to the platform's low-quality encoding—perhaps explaining the director's choice to restrict the trailer solely for theatrical audiences.
A First Glimpse of the Stellar Ensemble
The debut footage reveals Matt Damon in the role of Odysseus. Audiences are introduced to Tom Holland as Telemachus and Anne Hathaway depicting the loyal wife. During an emotional scene, the character pleads with Odysseus to promise he will return, to which he look up and question what occurs should he fail. Furthermore, the preview provides a quick, obscured look of the mythical one-eyed giant, from whom sheep are Odysseus and his crew steal on their treacherous voyage.
Based upon a foundational pillar of Western literature, The Odyssey chronicles the lengthy quest undertaken by the famed ruler. After his triumph at Troy, which is depicted within the companion epic, Odysseus endures an extended and hazardous road home.
Mythical Encounters with an All-Star Cast
On his travels, the hero encounters numerous obstacles and mythical beings. These include the witch-goddess Circe, who transforms men into swine, as well as the treacherous Sirens. Despite these trials, Odysseus vows to overcome anything to reunite with Penelope and Telemachus on his home island.
